Roses Are Red, Ducks Are Green & Yellow!
Oregon gets their first BCS Bowl win under head coach Chip Kelly.
Not only that, but the Ducks not only won their first Rose Bowl since 1917 , but with the 45-38 win became part of the highest scoring Rose Bowl of all time!

The Rose Bowl this season was a major shootout to say the least with Oregon winning 45-38 in a game that did not lack excitement, which was a major understatement.
Oregon made the big plays and played solid D down the stretch to win their first Rose Bowl since the First World War was taking place.
Onto the Love’Em and Hate’Em for the 2012 Rose Bowl matchup.
Love ‘Em
1. Oregon Offense
Really? 45 points against a pretty good Wisconsin defense? Not only did the Ducks rack up 621 total yards, but they also gained an insane 345 yards on the ground with La Michael James and De’Anthony Thomas each rushing for over 150 yards.
2. The big play
Oregon had 3 HUGE plays in the game with De’Anthony Thomas having 2 TD runs of 91 yards and 64 yards and Kenyon Barner hauled in a 54-yard TD catch. I mean Thomas only had 2 carries in the game and rushed for 155 yards with 2 TD. That is an average of 77.5 yards per carry, which aint bad in my book.

3. 4th quarter defense
Yeah, yeah, yeah the Ducks gave up a ton of yards to the Badgers, but when it really counted their D stepped up.
Oregon was down by 7 points at the end of the 3rd quarter, but in the 4th quarter the Oregon D held Wisconsin scoreless.
On top of that after Heisman finalist Badgers’ RB Montee Ball had rushed for 164 yards through 3 quarters he had 0 rushing yards on 3 carries in the 4th quarter.
4. Booth Review
Have to love the booth review, which confirmed the ruling on the field that the game was over with Wisconsin on the Oregon 25-yard line, but QB Russell Wilson spiked the ball milliseconds too late.
5. Dude, they won the game!
The biggest love ‘em has to be that the Ducks ended their season on a major high note winning the BCS Rose Bowl.
Hate’ Em
1. Oregon defense through 3 quarters
While the Ducks played bad D through 3 quarters and for the game they still gave up 508 total yards. Their 4th quarter defense saved them.
2. Oregon almost gave Wisconsin a chance to come back
After Oregon went up by 7 points Russell Wilson connected on 2 long passes to get the Badgers to the 25-yard line, but was just late stopping the clock. I’m still not sure what the Oregon secondary was doing. It was crazy coverage at best.
I think Chip told them to just NOT get beat over the top, other than that there was “nocoverage” at best.
